31.5.13

for the last time.

my school, folks.
no, not the whole building. just the shop lots under the "CALVARY" sign.

Like many other posts, I shall start with a "it's been a while!".

It's been a while since I updated the blog, and I'm sorry! Oops.

Anyway, school holidays started this Monday, but our teacher decided to have extra classes for us on Wednesday and Thursday (today). My school is shifting to the big building (CCC) that I blogged about previously, so technically today is the last day that we'll be here.

Also, this morning, I was helping my teacher pack science lab stuff. We were taping up boxes and labeling them and my teacher said this: "Anything we leave here will be cleared by the movers!" Omg. :'(

So I decided to be jakun and take pictures of the premises. So here goes a guided tour of my school!

at the entrance, there's this
reflective (?) glass door. this is kind of
an unofficial mirror for anyone who wants
to give themselves a last minute check
before entering school.
And then, as you go in, you notice this sign which tells you where to go.

After that, you go up the stairs or take the lift if you are a lazybum like me... and the rest of the school.

This lifts holds a lot of memories. It is where my group of friends, Strictly For Girls, took our lift photo. It's also the ultimate troll-tool, where we purposely call for the lift at the first floor so that whoever who was on the way to the second floor would get stuck. And our lift is the slowest lift ever because the close button is broken. Either that or it's just very, very delayed.

After that, we head straight up to the office, on the 3rd floor.

Ding-dong, ding-dong. Whoever staff is supposed to open the magnetic door for us when they hear this bell, but every one knows the password...

2-5-4-6. LOLOLOL.

In the office, a long corridor leads you from the main office to the rooms.
okay maybe it's not that long.
Then you'll see the computer lab.
*don't even ask what Kathy was doing*
The computer lab is notoriously known for it's musty smell, also known as the "pee" smell. It is also the house of many laggy computers which nobody uses. Besides, all my accounts classes were held here. The best part of the lab is that it holds the wi-fi modem, very famous to the students as the internet connection called "AIM Lab".

Okay, now we head back down to the second floor, where we students have spent countless hours. Our classrooms are there, the awkward corridor is there, the free-time room is there, and the pantry is there. I'll explain these soon.

Here are our classrooms:
the O2 classroom, which we used last year.

and our classroom! the O1's.
I'll miss all the times we spent in these two classrooms doing these things:
1. studying, obviously.
2. doing lifepacs.
3. falling asleep.
4. actually sleeping.
5. complain about the amount of homework.
6. wrack our brains for essay ideas.
7. made noise.
8. harassed our teachers.
9. talked to our friends.
10. snacked.
11. played silly games.
12. jammed; singing songs and playing the guitar.
13. getting lectured by the teachers.

and the list goes on. :')

24.5.13

yesterday and today.

Today was a hot, sweaty and tiring day. But first, let's rewind to yesterday morning.

23.5.13

Yesterday was Teachers' Day in our school. We had a little appreciation service for the teachers and staff of AIM College, during which I was the emcee. It was completely impromptu; it was the best emcee job ever. We had speeches from each class, messages to the teachers, represented by Leona for O2 and Keenan for O1. I've got to say that the teachers quite enjoyed what we had to say. After the service, we had lunch at Tange, where we treated the teachers for the meal. After lunch, we headed back to class where we took group photos and played games.

Class photo!

Around 2 pm, the six of us girls (KFCM2J) left for Florence's house. We cramped in Florence's mom's Harrier, along with Keenan, who decided to car pool with us. He sat in the car boot, which led us to calling it "smuggling a bangla in the trunk." It was a laugh.

By the way, the girls gave me a hard time for breaking a promise of bringing two movies and Taboo (the word game). I completely forgot to bring it for the sleepover so we kind of had nothing to do for awhile.

So, when we reached Flor's house, we played the Game Of Life. I have never seen this game so interesting. Usually it is quite boring to me, but this time, it was pretty fun. After that, we played the Dance Dance game on Flor's PlayStation, during which I sweated like nobody's business. It was some good workout. Then, Flor's mom said that dinner was ready so we went down, my stomach growling. Lasagna and spare ribs waited for us downstairs, and I've got to admit that the food was awesome. I ate darn a lot of lasagna. After dinner, we went to the playground/park. Scooters, slides, swings, seesaws, flying foxes, pepsi-cola (yes, the childhood game) and our laughter filled the evening. After some two hours, I was really tired and then we went back to the house.
this is me getting stuck in the slide.

After all of us showered, we watched Mean Girls (I finally watched it!). It was really funny. Since the movie kept pausing halfway, we got fed up. Carmen and I got hungry so we went downstairs, where Flor heated up leftover lasagna for us. NOM. We also had cookies and marshmallows. Awesome supper. When we were done with our food, we finished watching Mean Girls, and, surprisingly, went to sleep.

BREAKING NEWS: SIX GIRLS AT A SLEEPOVER SLEPT BEFORE 2 AM.

This is catastropheeee.

24.5.13

So we slept for about eight hours and woke up at 9 something the next day. For the first time, I felt refreshed on the morning of a sleepover. In the morning, we played card games (Speed and Uno), then went down for breakfast. We had sandwiches with egg mayo, bacon, sausages, tomatoes, lettuce etc. We also had mushroom bruschetta (did I spell that right?). There was leftover lasagna too. NOM.

Then we got ready to go out to Mid Valley Megamall. After getting ready, we all cramped again in Flor's brother's car (but this time, there was more space). When we reached Mid Valley, we met up with Zhen Yi (who got there really early) and walked around for a bit while waiting for Keenan and Bryan to arrive.

KFCM2J group photo
After Keenan and Bryan arrived, we went to play...

LASER TAG! :D :D

It was super fun. And super tiring too. We played twice, and I bumped into Ashley, an ex-school mate, at the laser tag place. Our group played with her friends twice. My score was the highest in the team twice! Sadly, though, our team never won because the other teams were just too good :(

we look too cool here.
After laser tag, I was sweating like crazy. I think I ran too much in the arena. EXERCISE OF THE YEAR. We were hungry (no lunch, I just realized) so we went to Sushi Q to grab some food. After I was done with my food, my family came to collect me and I left.

So there was my day! I'm still slightly unwell, but thank God I wasn't full-on sick during the sleepover.

Oh, and thanks to Kathy for the photos! :)

20.5.13

the second tallest.

On Sunday, 19 May 2013, my family and I had a great time at Menara Kuala Lumpur a.k.a. the KL tower. My cousins, aunts, uncles and grandmother were there too, and we had high tea to celebrate a belated Mothers' Day. It was indeed HIGH tea, since we had it in the revolving restaurant...

HERE.

KL tower!
At 1381 feet, it is the tallest tower in Malaysia after the Petronas Twin Towers.
Malaysian pride, yo!

You see the pod? Part of it is a revolving restaurant, which we had our high tea in. It's called Atmosphere 360 since it spins a full round in two hours, giving you a beautiful view of the city of Kuala Lumpur as you enjoy your food.
These are the twin towers, obviously the main attraction of the view. ;)

Anyway, we entered the building at 3 something in the afternoon, where we waited in the lobby for quite awhile because the place was packed. As we waited for the elevator to arrive, I couldn't help but take a picture of the magnificent ceiling in the lobby.

JUST LOOK AT IT. WHAT!? IT'S A CEILING, YES.
tickets ;)

Anyway, when the lift arrived, my family was just there being jakun.
My family, everyone.
We went up so many floors; I lost count. When we reached a certain level, my ears started to pop. Pressure.

And after a loud "ding!", the doors opened, and we were presented with a really nice galaxy-like lobby, with the restaurant's sign and, on the floor, how many metres we were in the sky. Check this out!

woo!
282 metres!
And in we went to the restaurant! :)

Panoramic-ish view of half of the restaurant. I tried my best!

We started pigging out...
food food food food food
Unfortunately, I wasn't feeling too well that evening, so I only ate two plates. WHO ON EARTH EATS TWO PLATES OF FOOD DURING A BUFFET?

Oh, and here are some interesting facts about the restaurant's... toilets.

These doors are done by my second uncle's woodwork company.
And look at those handles; apparently, they cost over four thousand ringgit.

This handle is the toilet cubicle's handle. It's over a thousand.

And this sink is the coolest sink ever. You see that cross on the top right?
Just touch the cross and the water will flow out of the slit in the middle.
So darn cool (y)

And of course, a mirror selfshot with the cousin.
HA WE'RE SUCH GIRLS.
Ooh! Another interesting thing about the restaurant:
Here's my dad posing with an awesome-looking door. It's the entrance to the restaurant captain's door.
My uncle also designed this! :D

and then, my grandmother was presented her Mothers' Day gift:

A CHEF HAT!

Aw, doesn't she look cute?
And by the way, my father wanted to pretend to be like her, so he took a napkin
and wrapped it around his head. LOLOL.
And then we started getting bored of the food and stuff, so I decided to test out sitting and eventually lying on the glass windows. It's actually kind of comfortable, but when the doubts of the glass breaking creep into your mind, you'll never go near those windows ever again. I mean imagine, the whole KL city lying beneath you, and all you see are trees, buildings, highways... and you're just there, lying on top of it all.

CERTIFIED EMO PICTURE.

Then, my dad did the most awesome thing ever. He spread out on the window, feet on the frame, stomach facing down, and limbs splayed out. He looked something like this, but this is ME doing it. Everyone was like WAHHH YOU SO BRAVE AH JESSICA!

This is my favourite picture ever. I mean look at this! I look like I'm skydiving without a parachute.
Oh KL, how I love you! *embraces KL with a big hug*

So there's my day at KL tower, and here's a picture of me

while I sat with the city in the background. :D

And a pic with the fam:

thanks for reading;
'Til next time! :)

*by the way, by the time you have finished reading this post, you have just helped me pass A THOUSAND BLOG VIEWS.
thank you so much! :)

18.5.13

cookies

So today I spent the evening at Kathy's house. I stayed back a little later than usual to...

BAKE COOKIES!

Believe me, I don't normally bake. I used to say that I would burn the house down if I bake. Even if there is no fire involved.

Anyway, Kathy managed to convince me and we started baking. After searching for a recipe (chocolate chip cookies, obviously) online, we started work.

I was way too excited, seriously. When Kathy was done measuring the chocolate chips, as she was measuring the other ingredients, I kept sneaking in handfuls of chocolate chips. It's okay, we had so much.
Just look at them! Who can resist?

After measuring all the things, we beat the mixture and got cookie dough! :D

Ta-da! I kept sneaking in bits of dough too, until Kathy reminded me that there were uncooked eggs in them.
Then I stopped.
After scooping spoonfuls of dough onto the baking sheets, we popped two trays into the oven.
by this time, I was beyond excited.
Soon after that, the aroma of freshly baked cookies filled the kitchen. Nommm.

Anyway, we kind of messed up a bit on the temperature and the duration so the first batch was a little soft. So we raised the temperature and the duration and the second batch got slightly burnt. Slowly, we switched around the temperatures and the duration and we got it just right. Yay!
Chocolate chip haven!
Between batches, Kathy and I were slightly high from the sugar content in the cookies, so we kind of laughed and joked non-stop. It was fun :D And she also gave me two containers of cookies to take home.
Mom tried them and said they were nice. Woo!

So there was my evening. Quite productive, considering the fact that I had planned to do nothing today because MONTHLY TESTS ARE OVER! *cue celebration*

Anyway, it's 12:23 a.m. now and it is the 18th of May. This means that it is the birthday of my funny, slightly clumsy, cray-cray, bookworm of a friend, Ms Florence Chieng! Thanks for all those entertaining times you've spent with me ;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, FLORENCE!

found this picture of the two of us and thought it was pretty cute. HAHA.
Love you, Flor. x

Ciao.

Seeds.

Hi everyone! I'm back :)

So these two weeks are going to be the last in the Damansara Perdana premises of my school. From 10 June onwards, the term will resume in CCC, the big building I blogged about during Easter.

Because of this, we're going to eat at as many different restaurants as we can, just to eat there for the last time. Nostalgia :')

Anyway, today is the last day of monthly tests. Did my accounts paper today, and it went better than I expected. Hmm. But before I can start celebrating, there's the weekly Business Studies test tomorrow. Which means I have to study.

Why why why whyyyyy.

I guess it's all for our own good to have tests every month, and in the case of business studies, every week. Considering the fact that 'O' Levels are only five months away, it's really not that far. Kathy and I were talking about it that day and we realized that five months is twenty weeks, and twenty weeks is...140 days.

*cue scary music*

Oh, we did an experiment on dicotyledonous seeds today, and we decided to create a little Hitler-lookalike. Enjoy.

Bye for now.

12.5.13

day of the mommas.

Today we woke up bright and early to go to church.

Just kidding.

Church service starts at 11:30.

Anyway, after church & lunch, my family headed to Capen (my dad's music center) where my brother was holding his Band Coordination Workshop. I did some work, dad got some rest (he wasn't feeling too well) and mom took a nap.

When the workshop was over for the day, we decided to go have a nice dinner for Mothers' Day. After a long and tough debate, we came to the most unexpected verdict ever.

My mom wanted to have Japanese food.

WHOOOAAAA. My mom used to detest Japanese food. She hates seaweed and raw fish (still does), and that was all she thought Japanese food was. We managed to convince her that she can eat all the unagi, ramen and rice that she wanted; and no worries, they're all not raw.

So off we headed to Sakae Sushi, Leisure Mall. We waited in line for five-plus minutes, then we had our Japanese dinner.

Needless to say, my dear mother -- who used to stay fifty feet away from Japanese food -- actually came to like sushi. She said that the seaweed is not as bad as she thought (even though she still doesn't like the crispy, salted type). And we all had a hearty feast, sharing sushi, ramen and laughter.

My Mother:

1. A teacher.
She used to own a kindergarten, the one I attended. So basically, she nurtured me as I grew as a toddler, both as a mother and a teacher. She was an amazing children-person; being in the childhood education line was totally her thing. I remember how she used to teach me how to read, then she'd ask ME to teach HER how to read. Because of her everyday attention to my reading skills, reading has now become one of my favorite pastimes. Also, my memory skills I have to owe to her. She was the one who taught me how to memorize things, in a fun, creative way. She used to challenge me in listing the entire contents of the Bible's 66 books. Ah, so many memories. :')

2. A guide.
As I grew older, she was there to guide me through any difficulties I had in life. At the age of four, I would ask her how to complete a certain task, and with boundless patience, she'd show me exactly how to do it. At the age of fourteen, I would ask her how to complete a task, and with boundless patience, she'd STILL show me exactly how to do it (minus the extra-gentle voice you use on four-year-olds, of course).

3. A coach.
Like any coach, my mom motivates me to start things... And finish them. She was the one who first encouraged me to write. She was the one who kept urging me to work hard. She isn't forceful; no. She manages to pep-talk you up in a way that will make you think and think, then in the end you'll realize she is right. Just like a coach.

4. A drill sergeant.
Now, to clarify this, I'd like to say that she is in no way mean or merciless. She does not force and lash out in anger. However, her strictness is one of the most effective things I have ever seen. Being an experienced teacher for the past few decades, she has the power to discipline children with a glimpse of her eyes. And this is probably one of the most important elements in parenting my brother and I. And she has done a good job, no? :D (no, seriously, she has done a good job.)
She can be strict at times, but it's all for our own good. I have come to realize that. That's because I've discovered that she is a wonderful

5. Friend.
She listens. She pays attention to your every word. She doesn't judge. She isn't afraid to tell you what she thinks. A true friend sticks by you through your ups and downs; that's my mother. She makes sure I know that she loves me, and encourages me whenever I feel like giving up (I tell her that I wasn't satisfied with my grades and she says, 'It's okay, you have done your best. Hopefully.'). And having a friend like her is such a blessing. She laughs at my jokes, however lame. She nods in understanding when I pour out my insecurities. Maybe not all girls are like this, but I love having conversations with my mother because she doesn't leave me out of her business just like how I don't leave her out of mine. Because that's just the way we are.

And last but not least, she is...

6. A mother.
Well, obviously. She has two kids, right? *laughs*

But all jokes aside, there is no better way to describe Ms Josephine Wong Lai Chee. She is a mother, fullstop. Perfect blend of teacher, guide, drill sergeant and friend. God, thank You so much for this wonderful mother of mine.

Happy Mothers' Day, Mummy.

11.5.13

tired legs.

Hi everyone! It is now the half-fast break that I had promised myself after four internet-deprived days. Took three monthly test papers (Business Studies, Religious Studies, Additional Mathematics) plus one in-class test for Business Studies this week.

My brain was practically fried from trying to figure out some add. math. problems in the test today. For the first time, I took almost the whole assigned time to complete all the questions. I was stuck at one of the questions, which I tackled in almost half an hour. I doubt I got it right, anyway.

I've just finished watching American Idol on 8TV, and now there's this... Korean thing on the telly. What is this programme even doing here?

Anyway, after school ended at 5 p.m. today, Kathy and I went to Mid Valley to get her mom's gift for Mothers' Day (which is this Sunday, for those of you who forgot. Thank me for saving your butts! Only kidding). After leaving her brother at Starbucks, we ate at Sushi-Q (nommm) and walked around for hours.

We managed to find what we wanted to buy and bought some really unexpected things. My legs and back were exhausted from walking so much while carrying my school bag but hanging out with someone like Kathy is so fun so haaaa. Probably it's because we are as weird as each other... [visit her blog here.]

---

I have three tests left. Malay, Biology and Accounts. The rest of my internet fast continues on Monday and ends on Thursday. Can't wait for monthly test to be over.

---

See you soon.

6.5.13

Internet fast.

No, I don't mean fast as in speed.

I mean fast as in to refrain from doing something.

Anyway, I decided to have my second internet fast this year, for these two weeks, with the exception of this weekend. (Tuesday 7/5 - Friday 10/5; Monday 13/5 - Thursday 16/5) Mainly, this is to prevent myself from being addicted to my phone. The reasons are as below.

1. God
Yeah, so I was thinking how doing devotions on my phone's internet bible is way different compared to when I'm using my trusty old hard cover bible and 'Everyday With Jesus' devotional book. When I use the hard copy, I'm not distracted at all because, y'know, it doesn't have Whatsapp or Twitter installed in it. Whenever I'm using YouVersion, there'll be Whatsapp/Twitter notifications making my phone buzz and I find myself rushing to the end of the devotion, without even meditating on the Word. Using my phone sort of drags me away from the true essence of spending time with God.

2. Family
When I use my phone too much, I tend to be really crabby toward my family members. This is probably because I'm too immersed in tweets, statuses, 9gag posts, YouTube videos etc., and I get annoyed if they tell me to do anything or even talk to me. Other than this, I seem to get into trouble a lot for overusing my phone. During my first internet fast in April, I managed to get into a minimum amount of arguments with my family. That's good, I guess.

3. Studies
As you know, I'm a high-schooler. This means that exams are a big element of my life (that sounds really sad, but it's true). With my phone around (like now), I take twice the time to complete my homework, and I always put off studying. Procrastination is a thief of time, they say. My phone & the internet are thieves of my time, I say.

4. Time
Like I said, I spend way too much time on my Samsung Galaxy W, iPad and Asus. That's not good at all, because I realized that I've neglected reading, my favourite pastime. During my April fast, I found so much time to do other stuff. Aaandd... I can confess, I was borderline bored without the internet. Ugh, I'm such a brat. But then I remembered how I used to find so many things to do before I discovered the internet; from drawing, to origami, to reading and to playing music. And that's another thing; I've been playing much less of the piano & guitar. *cries*

5. Sleep
Whoa, and this! A few times I have found myself falling asleep while playing with my phone. The next morning, I wake up with my phone under me. The app is still open and my battery is drained. My mom catches me and I endure another warning. So really, the internet causes me to lose sleep. I also stay up till late to make sure I don't miss any tweets. Yes, I am that much of an addict.

---

So I think it's for the best that I leave my wi-fi button off starting tomorrow till this Friday, and hopefully I'll spend time with God, get along with my family, study , spend my free time wisely and get sufficient sleep.

See you in a few, internet. ;)

Post-GE13

GE13 was a time of hope. A time of change... Or so we thought. Everyone was suddenly so gungho, and so many voters turned up at their respective polling stations early in the morning. Compared to GE12 in 2008, the number of voters skyrocketed. I heard of a man who reached his station at 6:30, just to be the first to vote. There was also a really old man who passed away while waiting for his turn to cast his vote. That's what I call SEMANGAT.

Across Malaysia, people aged 21 and above lined up at their 'Saluran', to wait for their turn to get their fingers inked, choose a party and insert their ballots into the boxes.

Everyone (mostly everyone) had their eyes fixed onto TV and computer screens, refreshing their web browsers every few seconds in hopes of seeing their favoured party gain more votes each time.

Twitter and Facebook got spammed with tweets and statuses about the GE and seriously, even the teenagers (underaged, I mean) were excited. We saw the existing government and the opposition gain seats slowly. But the TV stations & websites were giving us completely different news. However, both told us that Barisan Nasional had a steady lead. Hours and hours went by, with the opposition lagging behind. And then it happened.

I remember seeing the number '54' below the BN logo and the number '27' under the Opposition logos. I clicked refresh and...

Voila.

BN now had 97 votes, and Opposition had just crept up to 31.

WHAT LOGIC WAS THIS?

Twitter exploded with angry tweets filled with hatred for the corruption in this election. No way forty plus seats could be taken in one second.

We watched as BN soared to 112 seats, the number of seats needed to win the election. My brother started #UnfairElectionsMalaysia2013 on Twitter, having got 180+ retweets on his tweet as of now.

The hashtag did not trend, but every time you refreshed the hashtag, there'd be three or so new tweets. Proud of my brother, man.

You could see how united the Malaysians were at this point, being upset, disappointed and angry at our government for the corruption. Turns out that SPR had had a 'blackout', an electricity trip, just before the votes soared high. They had added extra ballots in favour of BN during the blackout.

Everyone soon began talking about the blackout and a massive change was seen on Facebook and Twitter. People were changing their profile pictures to a plain black square, just to show how the blackout had made Malaysians feel so angry.

Today, my family wore black. Anwar Ibrahim, PKR leader, tweeted "Wear black", getting 3000+ retweets when I saw it.

However mad or angry or upset we are, all I can say is that if you can't understand why God is allowing all this, all we need to do is trust His heart and His plans. Many prayers were said that night, and many were answered; just not with a 'yes'.

Lord,

I pray that Your peace, love and guidance will be upon this nation. I pray that the hatred will fade as it gets us nowhere. Father help us to realize that this is our chance to be the salt and light of Malaysia. I also pray that our petition to the United Nations will make an impact, and I thank You for the 100,000+ votes needed for it to be taken into consideration. Thank You Lord for uniting us Malaysians, and I pray that our hearts will understand Your will from all this.

In Jesus' Name,
Amen.

5.5.13

GE13

General Election 13.

Also known as PRU13, Pilihan Raya Umum 13.

Today is the 5th of May, and citizens of Malaysia rise up to have a say in their choice of government. Millions flock to their respective polling stations to mark an X on their choice, having blue ink stained on their fingers as a symbol of 'I Voted'.

*The ink comes off really easy btw. Why!?

I woke up at 8 today finding my house empty. My dad had gone to vote, and my brother had to drive my mom to her polling station.

Ubah!

I was home alone for an hour plus. I watched one and a half episodes of The Voice. Never have I watched so much of this American singing competition. Hm.

At about 9:45, my family came home. They held their fingers up proudly, showing off their blue fingertips (except for my brother, of course. He's not of age to vote yet. He was just there showing me his clean finger lololol)

Since the time they came home till now, *12:39pm* they've been watching the news. Election election election. Banglas getting caught. People smiling as they show their fingers. Aunties telling us how easy the ink comes off. Reporters saying that queues at polling stations are of unbelievable lengths.

But all in all, I'm so glad that the number of voters in Malaysia has increased so much this time. Many of us want an 'ubah', a change, and we're doing all we can. Waking up extremely early to go vote is just one of them.

I've never seen this much unity among Malaysians. Tonight, I guarantee, there'll be many more eyes glued to TV screens across Malaysia compared to when our champion badminton player Datuk Lee Chong Wei fights his no. 1 rival, China's Lin Dan.

Ubah!

And to those under 21 Malaysian citizens who are itching to tell the nation what the youths of Malaysia are thinking, head on over to under21malaysian.com to cast an anonymous vote for the party you support. Although it doesn't affect the results tonight, it will at least make an impact on Malaysians to see the young people making a choice for their future.

Ini kalilah!

Ubah!

3.5.13

Confession: I actually like school.

School is so fun.
Seriously.
I really like school, y'know.
Anyway, some highlights of school this week:

Balloon Armchair Competition - Critical Thinking Skills class

So Ms Stella, our CTS teacher, came into class that day telling us that today's work was building an armchair out of balloons. A legit armchair needs to have a seat, two armrests (THAT CAN ACTUALLY FIT YOUR ARMS) and a backrest that you can lean on.

She gave us thirty balloons and a roll of tape.
Here we go!

my group starting on our seat.

the guys' group's progress.
not looking like a chair of any sort yet. LOLOLOL.

the other girls' group with theirs.
double layers for their seat. hm.

After forty-five minutes, our chairs were starting to look like actual chairs. Some measuring of buttcheeks and test sitting was done and we were almost finished.

We then decided to have Sha-Mayne, the lightest in our class, to be the first chair-tester. After her would be Carmen.

our finished products!

my group's armchair. ;)
it even has a headrest with our group name on it.
hohoho.
the boy's.
doesn't even look like an armchair, I know.
pathetic.
(just kidding!)

the other girls'.
looks like the most legit armchair ever.

and then we were asked to line them up at the back of the class.
left to right:
other girls', ours, the boys'.

And so we started our competition.

Sha-Mayne went first.

All passed.

Then Carmen was next.

After they tried all three chairs, we were all celebrating because all the chairs could tahan their weight.

So we tried having Keenan to sit on the chairs.

All passed.

Then we had David.

All passed.

And we were all like WOOOOOO.

Class was over, so Ms Stella prepared to leave the class.

Just as we thought we had a tie, Melissa decided to become some unofficial tiebreaker and insisted on sitting on them.
So she did.

My group's armchair; one of the balloons popped! D:

And the other girls' armchair broke apart.

So the guys were just there rubbing it in our faces that they've won ALL the balloon competitions we've ever had. Which is true, by the way.

But we had so much fun so that's good, right? :D

Reproduction In Plants - Biology class

On the same day, during Biology class, we studied Reproduction in Plants.

So our teacher Ms Joyce brought loads of plants:
our group is kinda retarded. we were asked to cut open these fruits, and identify what the parts were.
but, with these shapes...
who can resist making this face?

and this is the fruit of the water lily, that DISPERSES BY WATER ho ho ho i pay attention in class.
some of my friends find this ultimately... gross.
i don't know. O:

 Till next time! :)
