9 Things to Tell My 12-Year-Old Self

1. You'll have an adult body and everything that comes with it soon; enjoy your childhood while you still can. No need to feel inferior to your girlfriends who have already reached puberty. Trust me, puberty is no fun. Besides, not getting your period yet just means that you can swim at pool parties all you want. *winks*

2. Whatever those girls are saying about you are not true. They're not really going to matter to you in a few years' time anyway. If you girls are true friends, you'll forgive, forget, and everything will be just fine in the end. (Sneak peek into future: you're gonna meet up with those friends for quite a number of times in the next few years!)

3. You see that angry red pimple on your forehead? Do not, I repeat, do not pop it. It'll be gone in a matter of days (plus, you'll get many more for the next few years so take care of your face).

4. Keep reading and keep writing. It's going to affect you so much in the future.

5. Don't worry about boyfriends and all that. Stay single, and don't get influenced by the girls you know who seem to be madly infatuated with a different boy every week. God has a plan for you and you probably shouldn't be dating at twelve anyway.

6. UPSR is not a big deal.

7. Buck up on your piano practices and cultivate your musical passions. You are much needed as a musician once you turn fourteen.

8. Don't be afraid because you have to read one speech in front of the whole school! Believe me, there'll be more to come. This is practice.

9. Trust in The Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
